The right side features the tube section, which can be used independently of the Vitalizer-section as a high quality, low-noise tube-line preamp whenever you just want to give your programme material the warmth and smooth bottom-end of tubes.

Using specialized tools we can deep dive in vast sound shaping possibilities. The audio signal is given an improved depth and perspective, more weight in the basses, clear and better differentiated mids and silky, brilliant highs, enhancing the spatial impression.

"Paul White, Sound On Sound (GB) ?What a powerful tool this is! The amount of control you have over the tonality, weight, and balance of your signal is just wonderful.""

Vitalizing sound? Vitalizing Service is designed for the sound enthusiast in professional recording, mastering and cutting. The finest audio technologies: Tube technology, RC & LC-technology, transistor and semiconductor technology alow us the unique combination of dynamic equalizers, amplitude-controlled phase correction, harmonic filtering opens up a whole new listening dimension by adapting the sound pattern to the non-linearities of the human ear. Mid frequencies accurate transparency with a soft, unobtrusive sound. The treble range is reworked with broadband shelving filters, which focus on achieving a smooth, silky sound pattern. Filtering can be altered by adding a passive LC-filter network. High frequencies are livened up without them sounding hard or aggressive.

The bass is accentuated without any risk of emphasizing the lower mid frequencies unnaturally. You can choose between a dry, percussive bass (Tight) or a punchy, soft and very deep sound character (Soft). Both sounds can be altered by adding a passive LC-filter.

The output section can be switched from solid-state to tube operation. Now you can add that warm and smooth tube sound to your mix and directly compare it with the ?non-tube? mix. Responding to latest psychoacoustic research it is believed that vinyl sounds ?better? than CD because of a more natural sound stage.

This techniques will perform the task of audio sweetening with great tonal flexibility and musicality. The result of processing is a pleasanter and livelier sound pattern with an unrivaled wealth of detail.
Responding to latest psychoacoustic research it is believed that vinyl sounds better than digital file because of a more natural sound stage. There are no sounds in nature that are coherent but have a channel separation of about 90 dB like on CD. This tube processing gives you the possibility to add vinyl-sound to your digital production. The non linearity magic touch of the electric current flow.

Psihoacoustics
Psychoacoustics is the scientific study of sound perception. More specifically, it is the branch of science studying the psychological and physiological responses associated with sound (including speech and music). It can be further categorized as a branch of psychophysics. Psychoacoustics received its name from a field within psychology? Recognition science?which deals with all kinds of human perceptions. It is an interdisciplinary field of many areas, including psychology, acoustics, electronic engineering, physics, biology, physiology, and computer science.

Psychoacoustics is broadly defined as ? Pertaining to the perception of sound and the production of speech.? The abundant research that has been done in the field has focused primarily on the exploration of speech and of the psychological effects of music therapy. Currently, however, there is renewed interest in sound as vibration.

Hearing is not a purely mechanical phenomenon of wave propagation, but is also a sensory and perceptual event; in other words, when a person hears something, that something arrives at the ear as a mechanical sound wave traveling through the air, but within the ear it is transformed into neural action potentials. These nerve pulses then travel to the brain where they are perceived. Hence, in many problems in acoustics, such as for audio processing, it is advantageous to take into account not just the mechanics of the environment, but also the fact that both the ear and the brain are involved in a person?s listening experience.

Resonance & Entrainment Consider the following: Anything that moves has a vibration. Though invisible, every aspect of our material world at the atomic level moves constantly. Wherever there is motion, there is frequency. Though inaudible at times, all frequencies make a sound. All sounds resonate and can affect one another. In the spectrum of sound ? from the movement of atomic particles to the sensory phenomenon we call music ? there is a chain of vibration:

Pattern Identification Simply put, pattern identification is one of the brain?s analytical processes. Identifying a pattern (visual, auditory, odiferous, kinesthetic) enables cerebral attention to shift from active awareness to passive acknowledgement. Listening and looking are active functions; hearing and seeing are passive.

Filtration means the removal of specific frequencies from an existing sound recording, be that the music of Mozart or a recording of a voice. Through the use of sound processing equipment, it is possible to isolate and mute certain frequency bandwidths. With filtration, any part of the low, mid, or high end of a recording can be withdrawn and reintroduced at will. On a visual level, imagine erasing the bottom part of a picture and then eventually drawing it back in. This is filtration.

Entrainment, in the context of psychoacoustics, concerns changing the rate of brain waves, breaths, or heartbeats from one speed to another through exposure to external, periodic rhythms.

Music alters the performance of the nervous system primarily because of entrainment. Entrainment is the rhythmic manifestation of resonance. With entrainment, a stronger external pulse does not just activate another pulse but actually causes the latter to move out of its own resonant frequency to match it. Arena of soundwork that depends on the precise mechanical manipulation of soundwaves to bring about desired changes in the psyche and physical body.

Another approach to sound processing is the field of binaural beat frequencies (BBFs). By listening through stereo headphones to slightly detuned tones (i.e., sound frequencies that differ by a prescribed number of Hz), sonic brainwave entrainment takes place. Facilitating a specific range of brainwave states may assist in arenas such as pain reduction, enhanced creativity, or accelerated learning.

Broadcast // Film & Video // Post Production // Tape Duplication Applications // Promos // Online Radios & Podcasts

1.The most obvious application of the vitalizing chain is to process a final mix, either while mixing or during post-production prior to cutting. Inserting the chain into the master-inserts of your console or right in between a playback and a recording unit.

2. Another popular stereo application is the processing of existing master tapes during post-production such as when reprocessing archive material for digital release. I can can make a significant contribution in restoring the high end detail that invariably suffers during i.e. a noise reduction treatment. In many cases, the restored master can be made to sound appreciably better than the original.

3. Tape duplication is often made at high speed resulting in a deterioration of the high frequency spectrum of the copies. By processing the output from the source machine, additional brightness can be added to compensate for deficiencies in the copying system. It may also be necessary to modify the bass end as many high speed systems fail to reproduce the bass end of the spectrum faithfully.

4. Perfectly suited on radio jingles, commercials and station idents. Because of the psychoacoustic nature of the processing, the treated signal will appear louder, closer, brighter and more intelligible than whatever was played immediately beforehand, thus creating a powerful impact. In commercial radio, the Tube Vitalizer can be used to process the entire on-air signal helping the radio station to stand out from the competition. Can also be used on feature-films to get a sound closer to the sometimes heavily processed commercials. In digital audio broadcast (DAB) the Tube Vitalizer can make a significant contribution to the sound quality prior to MPEG coding.

5. Used to sharpen and enrichen dialogue, even when the microphone placement is less than optimum as is often the case when filming due to the need to keep the mic out of shot. Music soundtracks benefit as well and common used. Time-compressed audio can also be treated to restore the lack of timbre so often caused by such intensive processing. This is particularly valid in the case of vocal narratives as even a relatively small amount of time-compression or expansion can dramatically compromise the sound quality. Chain inserted between noise-reduction and recorder to improve archived recordings. Compensating in deficiencies of high-speed and real-time duplications. Increasing the listener's attention on jingles, promos and spots, improving also time-compressed audio.
Coils are known for their pleasant sound. When getting saturated they produce a special harmonical structure giving a certain punchy sound that we know from old filter designs.
The tube section provides a frequency bandwidth from 30 Hz to 30 kHz. Often limiting the bandwidth which gives a limited impression of frequency bandwidth - and that may often be associated with "tube sound" ..you can easily identify the harmonical structures tubes add in the sound examples.
