We all know that between studio devices are the cables. Cables make the link between effects transport and get the audio signal into the audio interface from instruments, synthesizers etc. With all the wireless devices around these days or just the simple radio frequency, a well-made cable will transport the analog signal between your studio gear like a pipe. We all know that cables have resistance and different construction materials. A poor quality cable means that the metal conductor has too much resistivity, a poor insulation that causes the penetration of magnetic interferences or just a poor design & connectors. Not using the right impedance cable or quality connectors can cause a signal transfer loss and electromagnetic main hum or RF contamination of the signal. We invest so much in gear that makes a subtle difference and we cancel that with cheap cables. Is always advised quality cables and short as possible when working with analog gear.
